The Tyrone junior high boys basketball team defeated Philipsburg-Osceola 59-46 at the Tyrone gym on Friday afternoon. the third win in a row for Tyrone improves their record to 3-2.
The Baby Eagles started quickly leading the Mounties 15-8 after the opening quarter.
At halftime the Tyrone junior high boys had stretched their lead to 32-20. P-O never was able to get any closer than 10 points in the second half.
“We had many mental lapses throughout the game,” lamented Tyrone coach Jim Domenick. “We’ve got to learn to play intense for four quarters.”
Tyrone was led by Adam Corle’s 21 points. Adam Shaffer chipped in 13 points and Wade Branstetter came off the bench to toss in seven.
Tyrone will take a 3-2 mark into the holiday break and particpate in the Holiday Tournament in Philipsburg on Dec. 28.
