Classmate reunion (1968)
Rick Stonebreaker (left) and David Walters, friends and 1968 Tyrone Area High School classmates, reunited in the woods at the 13th annual running of the Sunmart 50k/50m trail run. The event is held in Huntsville State Park just north of Houston, Texas.
Rick ran his first marathon in Houston in 1993 and his first Ultra-Marathon trail run at Sunmart in 1995. Dave ran his first marathon at the Boulder Backroads in Boulder, Colorado in Sept. of 2001. Rick invited him to run the Sunmart in Dec. and tryhia hand at trail running. Fifty kilometers (50K) is 31 miles and any distance greater than the marathon distance of 26.2 miles is considered an Ultra-Marathon.
Dave resides in Louisville, Colorado, north of Denver, with his wife Rose and two children, Catherine and Matt. Rick Stonebreaker works at NASA and resides in Houston, Texas.
