Officials at both Antis Township and Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority held reorganizational meetings this week.
In Antis Township, officials reappointed Leo Matuszewski as chairman supervisor and Ray Amato as vice-chair.
Other reappointments included Linda Kimmen as secretary/treasurer; Andrew, Wagner and Beard as the township’s solicitor; Stiffler, McGraw and Associates as engineer; accounting firm of John Carothers to perform the annual audit for the year ending 2002; Shirley Burket as real estate transfer tax collector; Bellwood-Antis School District as the Earned Income Tax, Occupation Privilege and Flat Rate Occupation Tax Collector; and also Ray Nicum as Vacancy Board chairman.
Also, supervisors: established M&T Bank as the township’s banking location for savings and checking; certified Ray Amato as a delegate to the 2003 PSATS State Convention in Hershey in April 2003; appointed Susan Kensinger as delegate at the 2003 Tax Collector’s Convention in October; appointed Don Nearhoof to the inactive Antis Township Sewer Authority; appointed supervisor Ron Gensamer as a board member of the Blair County Sanitary Administrative Committee for 2003; appointed supervisor Robert Hornberger as a board member to the Bellwood-Antis Public Library Board for 2003; appointed supervisor Charles Taylor to serve on the 24-member Government Advisory Committee to the Blair County Planning Commission for 2003.
Also, supervisors: appointed Amato to the Antis Township Safety Committee; accepted the resignation of Hornberger from the Antis Township Planning Commission and appointed Taylor to fill the seat. Tom DelMastro was also reappointed to the planning commission.
Supervisors will continue to meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the township building.
“Overall, it’s been a good year,” said Matuszewski. “We were very pleased with everyone in their position in 2002 and see no reason to change the lineup for 2003.”
At NBCRSA, Charles Diehl was reappointed as chairman and Darryl Yeager was reappointed vice chair. Matuszewski will again perform secretarial and treasurer duties.
Pete McManamon will again act as the authority’s solicitor and Engineering Architecture and Design Services of Altoona was reappointed as the township’s engineer.
NBCRSA will again meet the first and second Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m.
“Things look pretty good,” said Matuszewski. “We hated to do what we had to do with that $4 increase, but it made the authority solvent. We’re paying our bills and doing a lot of refurbishing and rehabilitation as far as the sewer line goes. We have a lot of problems, but we’re getting there.”
