Who would have figured it? Harlow is reading a book.
I know my English teachers at Tyrone High School have to be amazed. It is the book “True Speed” by Tony Stewart. But, it still is a book.
Something just doesn’t seem right about the resignation of Tyrone Borough Manager Al Drayovitch. Normally, you don’t resign from a job if you don’t have one lined up.
Was he pushed out?
There have been rumblings about that for over a year. We will see if that is the case.
Kudos to the hard working road crews from PENNDOT and the surrounding municipalities. Many of the roads were driveable yesterday if you had four-wheel drive.
It is sad when you go out to eat and someone says the best part of the meal is macaroni and cheese. You have to be concerned about their taste buds. The combination of chicken, rice, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese just doesn’t add up. That has indegestion written all over it. I, on the other hand, had a steady diet of ham and potatoes.
Good luck to the many Tyrone and Bellwood-Antis athletes who will compete this week in the District VI Playoffs and Wrestling Tournament. The Class AA Tournament is at Tyrone High School. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, head to the high school and cheer on your favorite wrestler.
I believe in the freedom of speech given to us in the Constitution. I believe that everyone has the right to express their opinion. When people are protesting the upcoming war in Iraq, it bothers me. It is not about the protesting, but the idea that the troops get when they see people against the mission they have been asked to participate in.
There are many brave Americans who have given their lives in battle to protect our freedom. There will be many more.
My favorite thing about having an editorial a week is the opportunity to speak my mind.
Iraq and Iran have now been tied to bin Laden’s terror group. When President Bush announced the War on Terror, you are either with us or against us. They are against us.
If we wait much longer, our troops will be fighting in 100 degree weather in chemical suits. We could lose more people to heat stroke than hostile fire if that happens.
The war needs to start sooner rather than later or the opportunity to liberate the Iraqi people will have passed us by.
Enjoy your week and we’ll talk Tuesday.
