Simple assault
3/5 – Philipsburg police reported that a 19-year-old female and a friend encountered three or four unknown females along Audrey Hollow Road where the 19-year-old said that after a brief argument the girls punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground. She suffered bruising to her eye and back and plans to seek medical attention on her own. The investigation is continuing.
Simple assault
3/1 – Two staff members of Cove Forge Behavioral Systems in Woodbury Township were assaulted by a 13-year-old client. The staff members received minor injuries and received treatment at the Altoona Hospital. A juvenile petition was filed with the Blair County juvenile probation office, alleging simple assault and harassment.
Two vehicle collision
3/6 – A 1992 Chevy Cavalier was traveling west on SR 22 and a 1996 Ford-700 TK was traveling east on SR 22. The driver of the Cavalier lost control in the snow and crossed into the eastbound lane. The driver of the Ford attempted to steer out of the way to miss the collision but was unable to do so. The driver of the Cavalier was transported to the Altoona Hospital Trauma Unit by the way of ambulance with serious injuries, and the operator of the Ford had no injuries. The investigation is continuing.
