Mrs. Meredith Greene Martin, 84, of Epworth Manor, Tyrone, formerly of Fostoria, RD#2 Tyrone, died Wednesday morning, March 19, 2003 at the Manor.
She was born June 30, 1918 in Yukon, a daughter of the late Charles M. and Martha May (Hitchcock) Greene.
She married George O. Martin on April 30, 1038 in Circleville. He passed away on January 4, 1997.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas C. and wife Christina of Altoona, James O and wife Sharon of State College and Fredric W. and wife Mary Lou of Fostoria, a daughter Janice Martin and husband John Kepler of Altoona, 14 grandchildren, John, Thomas, Steve and Daniel Martin, Karen Padula, Timothy, Marsha, Kathleen and Elizabeth Martin, Cynthia Petucci, Robert and Travis Martin, Nora Gieg and Meredith Martin Kepler and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by many sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jeanne May, brothers Charles Greene, Clarence Greene and Jack Greene and by sisters Velma Penman and Henrietta Hepler. Mrs. Martin was the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Logan Valley Presbyterian Church, Bellwood and a former of the Duncansvlle Presbyterian Church, Sewickley Presbyterian Church and the Reformed Church of Yukon. She was a graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School.
Mrs. Martin was a gifted singer, speaker and writer.
All those who knew Meredith were richly blessed. She was gracious, wise, compassionate and filled with good humor. She had an unfailing ability to see the good, and she rejoiced in it. In her last few years, Meredith found a good home in Epworth Manor, where the compassion she always showed to others was returned to her, measure for measure.

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. on Friday and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Funeral Home with her nephew, Rev. Douglas Hileman officiating.
Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery.
