2/12 – State police at Hollidaysburg report five drivers escaped injury in an accident that occurred along Interstate 99 at 7:30 a.m.
According to police, Charles Wild of Gallitzin was northbound, just north of the 17th Street Extension in Logan Township, when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway.
Police said his Ford Ranger traveled off the lane, into the median then into the southbound lane where it struck a tractor trailer operated by James Weyant of Bellwood, who was traveling southbound.
Police said while still in the southbound lane, Wild’s truck was struck broadside by a tractor trailer operated by Scott Defibaugh. This collision knocked Wild’s vehicle into the left side of a Ford F-150 pickup operated by Tyrone’s Michael Ronan, which was traveling southbound.
Police said the Wild vehicle came to rest in the left southbound lane of SR 99 and was facing northbound and was then struck head-on by a Mazda sedan operated by Theresa Corle of Tyrone.
No injuries were reported.
