It kind of gets scary when people say it is a red letter day when they get to talk to you.
That was the comment this morning when I talked to Tyrone Hospital Marketing Director Theresa Yanchez. I am glad I made your day Theresa.
We hope you enjoy The Daily Herald Home Improvement Guide that will appear with Saturday’s paper.
The golf clubs made their first appearance on the course last week. They didn’t fare well. Well the clubs did ok, the goof that was swinging them fared poorly. I was working on a round of 115 before giving in and quitting after nine holes. Kerry Webster was just crushing me and was on a pace of 114 before we hung it up. The next time the clubs make an appearance, I hope for better results.
Tonight at the Snyder Township Municipal Building, the township supervisors will hold a public hearing concerning how the CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) money will be spent in the coming year.
I look forward to seeing many of you Thursday night at the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Dinner at the Tyrone Elks Lodge.
Tonight is opening night of the Tri-County Little League. Warriors Mark travels to Bald Eagle. Good luck to both teams.
This week, General Tommy Franks, the CENTCOM commander will announce that Operation Iraqi Freedom is won. Seeing protestors in Iraq is something I didn’t think we would see right away. When you offer freedom, the freedom to protest is one of those freedoms. If they protested like this with Saddam in power, there would have been public executions.
We are still working on details on The Daily Herald’s Meet the Candidates Night. The event will be broken into two weeks. The first week will be candidates in the Tyrone Borough Council, Snyder Township Supervisors and the Tyrone School Board. The second week will have the candidates for district justice, Blair County commissioners and the Blair County judges race. We hope you come out and participate and meet the people who are running to represent you. The dates will be announced in The Daily Herald this week.
Congratulations to Morgann Davis who earned first chair on Flute I at the State Band Festival. To earn that is tougher to win a state championship in any sport. What an achievement and good luck at Ohio State Morgann.
Enjoy your week and we’ll talk again soon.
