Ronald E. “Pug” Wrye, 66, of 5253 Dungarvin Road, Warriors Mar, died unexpectedly Friday, May 9, 2003 at the Tyrone Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1936 in Warriors Mark, the son of Milton Leroy Wrye and Catherine (Fink) Wrye.
On June 5, 1957 in Winchester, Va., he married Barbara (Jill) Everhart who survives.
He is also survived by four children, Ronald Roy Wrye of Warriors Mark, Melissa Claypool of State College, Michelle Treese of Warriors Mark and Melinda Supon of State College, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Three sisters and a brother also survive, Joy Gensimore of Warriors Mark, Debroah Mellot and Shirley Wrye of Tyrone and David Lee (Chip) Wrye of Warriors Mark.
Mr. Wrye was a sergeant in the United States Army infantry from 1955-1957.
He worked at the Pennsylvania State University in the physical plant until he retired in 1998 following 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Cartwright Hunting Club and the Warriors Mark-Franklin Volunteer Fire Company.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Bruce Cox Funeral Home in Warriors Mark with Pastor Jay Jones officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Taylor Township.
Friends will be received at the funeral home tonight from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the services.
