Last month, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was released on VHS and DVD. The DVD delivers another adventure with more magic, more laughs and more thrills. When Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was in theaters, it grossed more than $88 million in its opening weekend, the third largest opening 3-day weekend of all time just behind Spider-Man and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts School of Wizardry for his second year. After a confrontation with a house elf named Dobby, Harry escapes to the Weasley house with Ron Weasley in a flying car. They are then late for the train and have to ride it to school. When they get there, strange happenings invade the school. Mudbloods (people of Muggle families) are petrified by an evil monster lurking in the grounds. When everyone suspects that it is him, the trio then set out to find the culprit and find out more than they bargained for: the diary of Tom Riddle, why Hagrid was expelled, and what the Chamber of Secrets is and why is it so feared in Hogwarts.
Next month, the long awaited fifth book in the Harry Potter series will be released on June 21. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is over 255,000 words compared with over 191,000 words in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The new book is 38 chapters long, one more than Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Here are some interesting things to look for in the new book. There will be a female Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher. There will be a new sorting hat song. Ginny Weasley will play a larger role in the fifth book. At least one of Harry’s classmates will be made a Prefect. Now that Oliver Wood has left Hogwarts, the Gryffindor Quidditch team will need some new players. Who will become the new Keeper?
