The DelGrosso family has been putting together fireworks and music for the last ten years, and tomorrow night’s presentation promises to be the largest and perhaps the most special.
With more sponsors on board, this years’ event will have fireworks shot from six different locations behind the DelGrosso Foods plant in Tipton.
The Fourth of July celebration gets started early at DelGrosso Amusement Park, and at 10 p.m., a fireworks pre-show will be shot to warm up the crowd for the big show at 10:30 p.m.
“For those in their cars the music for the fireworks, simulcast in stereo will air on Froggy 98, and for those in or near the park, the music will come from a large sound system that covers a wide area,” said Tom Riley, of Riley Event Management. “We don’t talk a lot about being the biggest or best. It requires you to be in Tipton to see how special this presentation is.”
The Forth of July is always a special holiday, and in Tipton tomorrow night, it will be even more special as the musical soundtrack will feature patriotic songs that surely will inspire everyone to sing along.
“Because of the war in Iraq and the headlines that we’re reading every day with our armed forces still in harms way, we wanted this years presentation to serve has a reminder of our troops currently serving, and those who have served in the past or gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Riley. “That’s why during the fireworks display that a special moment will observed to salute the men and women who serve in America’s armed forces.”
“Summer Thunder” again enters its tenth year this evening and the sponsors for tomorrow nights presentation include DelGrosso Foods, Dean Patterson Motors, Froggy 98, WTAJ-TV and First Commonwealth Bank and the Allied Milk Producers, both new sponsors this year.
“More sponsors translates into more fireworks. That is why we invite everyone to Tipton. From a viewing standpoint there is a larger window to see the fireworks shot from six different locations. It’s always been special and this years music and fireworks will be better then ever,” said Riley.
“Summer Thunder” always draws a large crowd to Tipton. So event organizers remind residents to arrive early. State Police also remind everyone that parking on Interstate 99 is prohibited.
