Robert J. Stine, 71, of Oak Street, Port Matilda, died Friday, July 4, 2003 at Centre Community Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1932 in Philipsburg, a son of Merle and Elizabeth (Reese) Stine. On May 6, 1978 at Port Matilda United Methodist Church, he married Mabel A. Walters.
Surviving is his wife, a son James C. and wife Barbara of State College, a step-son Lynn Snyder of Port Matilda, a sister, Geraldine King of State College and two brothers Russell and Thomas of Port Matilda.
Mr. Stine retired in 1997 from the State College Area School District as custodian supervisor following 31 years service.
He was a member of the Boy Scout Troop 59 committee, FOP, Bald Eagle Lodge and was a longtime sextant and caretaker for the Port Matilda Presbyterian Cemetery. He was of Methodist faith.
Bob enjoyed being outdoors and loved animals especially his three dogs and his kittens.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Port Matilda United Methodist Church with Pastor Patricia Gable and Pastor James Nolton officiating. Interment will follow at Port Matilda Presbyterian Cemetery.
