At The 10:30 morning worship service this Sunday, July 8, Zachary, Tyler and Emily Estright, children of Karl and Deborah (Huff) Estright of Tipton, will lead the vocal and instrumental music for the 79 members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Estright serves as Director of Tyrone’s Allegheny Chorale and also as Director of elementary vocal music in the Williamsburg Area School District.
Mr. Estright works as a teacher of special education with the Altoona Area School District.
Zachary Estright will open the service with a cello solo entitled “Gavotte” by Gregory Aller. A cello student of Mrs. Amy Perchy of Altoona for the past five years, 14-year-old Zachary sang in the Bellwood-Antis Middle School chorus and had the lead role as the prince, in the Bellwood-Antis Middle School musical “Cinderella,” directed by Mr. Richard Bower.
Zachary’s 10-year-old sister Emily will follow his cello solo with a vocal solo entitled “Isn’t He Beautiful” by John Wimber. Emily plays percussion instruments in The Bellwood-Antis Middle School band. Their aunt Susan (Huff) Daly will accompany both Zachary and Emily on the 1935 Baldwin Grand Piano in Tyrone Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Daly works as an associate for Retirement Plan Solutions in Greenwood.
Following the scripture reading from Luke 10, 16-year-old Bellwood-Antis High School tenor Tyler Estright will perform a 2003 duet with his mother Mrs. Deborah Huff Estright entitled “You Raise Me Up” by Brendan Graham and Rolf Lovland. A junior at Bellwood-Antis High School, Tyler Estright performs with the high school choir and select ensemble.
Presbyterian preaching Pastor and Epworth Manor Chaplain Reverend Mark Liller will draw inspiration from chapter 10 of Luke’s Gospel for his morning message called “We Are To Minister.” Liller’s talk will remind people that Christians are to reach out to the world, which really exists in their own backyard.
Enlightened by Liller’s message, the audience will sing two beloved Sunday School hymns which celebrate the Christian’s opportunity to minister to others with the good news of the Gospel — “Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam” and “I Love To Tell The Story.” Church organist Richard Merryman will offer variations on those Gospel hymns, composed by Billy Graham Crusade Pianist Mr. Tedd Smith.
With the Fourth of July now a memory, the elders and deacons of Tyrone Presbyterian Church encourage people to join their 79 church members as they enjoy summer spiritual inspiration from the spoken word and from music, especially uplifting music such as this vocal duet that Debbie and Tyler Estright plan to perform for 10:30 worship this Sunday, July 8: “When I am down, and oh, my soul’s so weary / When troubles come and my heart burdened be / Then I am still, and wait here in the silence / Until You come, and sit awhile with me / There is no life, no life without its hunger / Each restless heart beats so imperfectly / But when You come, and I am filled with wonder / Sometimes I think I glimpse eternity / You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains / You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas / I am strong when I am on your shoulders / You raise me up, to more than I can be.
