The Epworth Manor Auxiliary is sponsoring its first-ever Box Lunch Bingo at the Epworth Manor Personal Care Building on September 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and is asked to make reservations by September 9 so that lunch can be prepared for everyone attending. The cost is $5.
The event is a fundraising effort by the Auxiliary to raise money for the residents of Epworth Manor.
Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m., and bingo starts at 1 p.m. and lasts until 3 p.m. Along with a nice box lunch, door prizes and gifts are available when individuals win bingo.
Prizes include Auxiliary gift shop merchandise, beauty shop gift certificates, flowers from local florists, and a bird house, among others.
According to Auxiliary member Ann Clark, the Box Lunch Bingo is one of the four money-making fundraisers the Auxiliary holds throughout the year.
The goal for the Auxiliary is to raise $12,000 throughout year to give back to Epworth Manor. According to Clark, last year the Auxiliary was able to raise $13,000 to give back to the Manor.
The gift shop at Epworth Manor is also run by the Auxiliary, and the money from the shop goes back into the Manor as well as any membership money the Auxiliary raises.
Some of the items the Auxiliary is able to help fund at the Manor includes activities in both the old and new building as well as to donate $2,000 to the Epworth Manor Care Assurance Fund. This fund assures residents that they have a home at the Manor if a financial need should arise.
