The streets of Tyrone were lined with people last evening as the annual Tyrone Halloween Parade snaked its way from the American Legion parking lot to the National Guard Armory.
Sponsored by the Tyrone Area Community Organization, the annual Tyrone event has consistently grown over the past few years, and last evening was no exception as the parade marched through the streets for more than 90 minutes.
There were costumes of all shapes and sizes – from beautiful maidens to scary dragons, popular cartoon characters to the actors that perform on the big screen.
Numerous cash prizes were given to the dozens of children who braved Mother Nature’s chilly touch and threat of rain. Local business owners and personalities judged the event.
In addition to the costumed children, others participated in the march, including local fire companies, both the Golden Eagle junior and senior high bands, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society and the Dover Millionaires Club.
Following the parade, TACO provided donuts and fresh apple cider at the armory.
