Residents of Blair County and beyond who wish to comment on a current event or publicly write on an area of common concern, The Daily Herald welcomes you to write a “Letter to the Editor.”
However, before the pen or pencil is picked up, please note the following guidelines must be met before they are considered for publication in a Saturday edition:
•Letters must be 350 words or less. Letters longer will be returned to the author for editing.
•Letters containing content considered to be of a questionable nature will be submitted to The Daily Herald’s attorney for review.
•Letters must be in good taste and focus on issues of general concern, not on personalities or personal issues.
•Letters must be signed and contain the name, address and telephone number of the author. Unsigned letters or letters without complete information will not be considered.
•Only one letter per author every 14 days.
•Regular contributors should submit letters on varied subjects. Letters by the same author that reiterate opinions on the same topic may not be published.
The new policy is effective Monday, Nov. 17.
