The Tyrone Community Players recently announced auditions for its spring musical, Pippin.
Auditions will be held in the theater of the Tyrone Area YMCA and are scheduled for Sunday and Tuesday, February 15 and 17 at 7 p.m.
Show dates for Pippin are scheduled for May 7-8.
Those interested in auditioning are asked to be prepared with a vocal audition in the style of the show.
The summary of Pippin is that it is a show within a show. A band of \”Players\” will tell the tale of Prince Pippin, the eldest son of Charlemagne, as he goes in search of a completely fulfilling life.
Pippin is under the direction of Cindy Bennett, with musical direction by Darcy Wilson and choreography by Brian Williamson.
The cast is principally adult with one child, not gender specific, aged 10-13 years. There are four male leads requiring strong singing voices; three principle females and a chorus with many vocal, dancing and acting challenges.
Perusal scripts and scores are available by phoning stage manager John Coltabaugh at 684-2649, or by phoning the ArtsLine at 684-ART2.
Besides scheduling auditions for Pippin, TCP has also begun rehearsals for its spring production Music, Magic and Memories.
TCP is celebrating its 20th anniversary with Music, Magic and Memories, A 20th Anniversary Season Retrospective.
This production is being coined \”A Theater Family Reunion\” because it is bringing together many of the originators of roles with other members of their cast that have not performed together for quite some time.
Karen Mayhew, director of Music, Magic and Memories has worked tirelessly to incorporate the use of original costumes, sometimes in an unexpected fashion, along with some surprises for the audience.
Music, Magic and Memories is scheduled to be presented on February 27 and 28 in the historic theater of the Tyrone YMCA.
Ticket information may be obtained by phoning the TCP ticket office at 684-ART2.
