Mrs. Salema D. Phillinger, 88, formerly of 2207 Columbia Avenue, Tyrone and a guest at Epworth manor died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at 8:50 a.m. at the Tyrone Hospital.
She was born Oct. 17, 1915 in Altoona, the daughter of Charles and Rose Metry Dannaway and on Nov. 17, 1946 in Altoona, was married to William Phillinger, who preceded her in death July 24, 1986.
She is survived by one son John and wife Carol Phillinger of Lansdale; a granddaughter Emily of Lansdale and a sister Mary C. Dannaway of Tyrone.
She was preceded by five brothers.
She was a member of Northwood Baptist Chapel of the church’s Missionary Group. She had been employed as an inspector at Reliance Manufacturing. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and being a companion to her sister, and was a loving mother and friend to all.
Funeral services for Mrs. Phillinger will be Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Tangen and Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
