Mrs. Shirley A. Riggleman, 71, of Decker Hollow, RD3, Tyrone, Pa. died Monday morning, July 9, 2007 at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.
She was born August 17, 1935 at Ironville, a daughter of Edward Reed and Ruth Louise (Waite) Krider.
She was married April 18, 1954 in Tyrone to Lynn E. Riggleman who died April 12, 1982.
She is survived by three daughters and one son: Betty L. Thais and her husband Stephen and their children Stephen, Jr. and Sarah Thais of Glenmoore, Pa.; Treva C. Ray and husband Samuel D. of Tyrone; Joanna L. Sprankle and husband David T. “Hawk” of Tyrone and Lynn E. Riggleman, Jr. and wife Kim of Tyrone.
There are nine grandchildren and one step-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild and five step-great-grandchildren.
Also, two sisters, Arleen Hartsock of Fayetteville, N.C. and Gloria Krider of Williamsburg; brothers Gary Krider (Helen) of Port Matilda and John Krider (Betty) of Bellwood.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Tyrone and enjoyed playing the organ, playing cards, the outdoors and fishing.
She was last employed at DelGrosso’s Park and previously at Corning Glass in State College.
Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Tyrone Church of the Brethren for service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Warren MacEachern officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
