In a game played at Galactic Ice on Thursday, Jan. 8, the Central PA Junior High Wolves scored the first four goals to cruise to a 4-1 win over the Altoona Junior High Mountain Lions.
The Wolves got a pair of second period scores from Adam Erlichman of Bedford and single tallies by Jamin Solensky (Cambria Heights) and Taz Zielezinski (Bedford) in the third period, before Altoona managed their only goal of the contest with less than two minutes remaining.
Josh Kennedy (Spring Cove) assisted on Erlichman’s first goal, Kennedy and Ryan Ferguson (Bedford) had assists on the Solensky score and Chris Matish (Penn Cambria) had an assist on the Wolves final score by Zielezinski.
Kody Martin (Allegany County) stopped 14 of 15 shots on goal for the Wolves who improved to 7-1-1 at the junior high level.
The next game for the Junior Wolves will be Thursday, Jan. 15, against the Bishop Guilfoyle Junior Marauders. The Wolves are the home team for the 5:30 p.m. game. On Sunday, Jan. 18, Central PA will be the visiting team in a 5:30 p.m. game against the Altoona Junior Mountain Lions also at Galactic Ice.
