Mrs. Betty F. Nearhoof, 83, of the Ridge Road, Warriors Mark, PA died Friday, March 5, 2004 at 4:10 a.m. at Altoona Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1920 in Birmingham, the daughter of David and Mary Reeder Wesley, and on May 16, 1940 at the bride’s family home in Birmingham, she was married to Robert B. Nearhoof, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons and a daughter – Elmer and wife Lynne of Warriors Mark; Robert II and wife Becky of the Ridge Road, Warriors Mark; and Sue, wife of Michael Ronan of Warriors Mark; six grandchildren – Sharon May, Amy Nearhoof, Becky Lawson, Andrea Ronan and Kenneth and Katie Nearhoof; and a sister, Helen Cupp, a guest at Epworth Manor.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Chruch, of the United Methodist Women and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Warriors Mark Fire Company. She was a graduate of Warriors Mark High School Class of 1938. She had been employed at Puritan Company and Big Yank and with her husband, owned and operated a dairy farm. She enjoyed her grandchildren, knitting, sewing and playing the organ.
Funeral service for Mrs. Nearhoof will be Monday, March 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Charles A. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be in Burket Cemetery, Warriors Mark. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
