Many area duffers have already pulled their bags from the closet and dusted off their drivers.
But those who haven’t probably will by the time the Tyrone Hospital Development Council’s Fourth annual golf tournament fundraiser begins on Aug. 25 at the Sinking Valley Country Club.
Opportunities to help this important organization abounds at the tournament, including both golf participation and sponsorship.
The Tyrone Hospital Development Council’s purpose is to support the community and Tyrone Hospital through contributions and support of Tyrone Hospital’s capital projects. The mission of the group is to stimulate the development of a community supportive of the healing mission of the hospital.
The best-ball, four-man scramble will kick-off an hour after the 10 a.m. registration. According to Randy Miles Sr., chairman of the Development Council, numerous requests were made for an earlier starting time after last year’s event.
Numerous prizes will be awarded at the event, including a brand new car for a golfer who’s lucky enough to score an ace.
Cost to participate for each team is $300, and this can be mailed, in the form of a check, along with team member names, their addresses and phone numbers, as well as their handicap and/or scoring average, to Tyrone Hospital, Attn: Marketing Office, One Hospital Drive, Tyrone, Pa. 16686. Checks may be made payable to Tyrone Hospital. Deadline to register is Aug. 1, 2004.
This fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, a box lunch, a buffet dinner following golf, and door prizes.
There are also plenty of sponsorship opportunities available.
A tee or green can be sponsored for $300. A Course Sponsor, which includes banner signage at the course and fee for a team of four, carries a $750 price tag.
Corporate Sponsors include banner signage at the course, fee for a team of four, and pre-tournament publicity. Commitments for corporate sponsorship must be received by Aug. 1 to receive all pre-tournament publicity.
