A 39-year-old Tyrone man, William Scott Newberry, was arrested after an incident Saturday night at the Hesston Speedway in Penn Township.
Huntingdon-based state police indicate Newberry was intoxicated and began arguing with 19-year-old Jesse E. Snyder of Spruce Creek about an engine. During the argument, Newberry allegedly shoved and punched Snyder. He also allegedly made several threats to Snyder and the teenager’s family.
Newberry was escorted from the speedway by security. He now faces charges of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and harassment. He was also banned by the speedway from attending future events at the track. Charges were filed at District Justice’s Richard Wilt’s office in Huntingdon.
