Hollidaysburg State Police
A two-vehicle accident on State Route 453 on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. involving two motorcycles, sent an Altoona man to Tyrone Hospital.
Twenty-eight year-old Matt Lindsey of Altoona was traveling southbound as was 50-year-old Otto G. Barton II. Both men attempted to negotiate a left curve when Lindsey lost control of his bike which went onto its left side and skidded approximately 24 feet.
Barton was following Lindsey and lost control of his bike after seeing Lindsey’s traveling on its side. Barton’s motorcycle skidded 66 feet and then went onto its right side. Barton was thrown onto the pavement and struck his head and shoulder.
Both vehicles came to rest on the berm of the west side of the road.
Lindsey was treated for a minor arm abrasion. Police said he was using an unauthorized helmet.
Barton suffered head and shoulder injuries and was taken by ambulance to Tyrone Hospital. He was not wearing a helmet.

An 18-year-old woman from Penns Woods had her wallet stolen while she was in the water park at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park in Tipton.
Kimberly A. Shawler left her wallet unattended at the park and an unknown person removed it from her seating area. The police report indicated the wallet contained $20.

Philipsburg State Police
A pick-up truck struck a pedestrian in Port Matilda on Friday at 7:15 a.m.
Lisa A. Sholar was hit by the truck which had made a left turn onto West Plank Road from South High Street while Sholar was attempting to cross the road. She was struck by the left front end of the truck operated by 21-year-old Matthew J. Moyer of Port Matilda.
Sholar was transported to Tyrone Hospital by Port Matilda Ambulance.

State police reported a two-vehicle accident involving two pick-up trucks in Philipsburg last week.
A Tyrone man and a man from Buffalo, NY were operating their vehicles on Centre Street when the incident occurred on Thursday shortly before 3 p.m.
Nineteen-year-old Douglas B. Stephens was following 59-year-old James W. Campbell’s vehicle on South Centre Street. Campbell’s vehicle was stopped behind traffic and Stephens’ vehicle hit the middle rear end of Campbell’s vehicle.
After the impact, both units came to rest in the northbound lane, facing in a northerly direction. Stephens’ vehicle had severe damage while Campbell’s truck suffered minor damage.
Neither man was injured.
