In quarterfinal District VI-AA volleyball action at Bellwood on Thursday night, Bellwood-Antis trimmed Ferndale three games to one, to move to the semifinal round.
The Lady Blue Devils continued their outstanding season winning the first two games 26-24 and 25-16 before Ferndale rallied to win game three 18-25. The Bellwood girls, with their dominating middle, took the fourth game 25-9 and the match to improve to 18-1.
Stephanie Hatch had nine service points, that included two aces to go along with 14 kills and 10 blocks. Lauren Carter added 10 service points, including four aces, 17 kills and 10 blocks. Haley Crider scored nine points, including two aces, Nicole Ross scored eight service points, including four aces and Elyse Schreckengost added six points, including two aces and three kills and Katie Palmer had seven service points, including one ace.
The number two seeded Lady Blue Devils will meet third seeded Penns Manor, a 3-0 winner over Ligonier Valley on Saturday afternoon at the Altoona Fieldhouse at 3 p.m. in a semifinal match.
