The Daily Herald and Tyrone Hospital have announced the area’s New Year’s Baby.
Allen Yingling was born at Tyrone Hospital on January 4 at 9:54 p.m. He was the first baby to be born at the hospital in 2005. He weighed five pounds, 3.6 ounces and was 18 inches long. Allen is the son of Angel Yingling of Tyrone.
The Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary presented gifts to Tyrone Hospital’s New Year’s Baby. Allen received several sleepers, a toy, slippers and other miscellaneous items. Five generations of Allen’s family gathered at the hospital to celebrate his birth.
Also, Allen was the winner of the Daily Herald’s First Baby Contest. In recognition of this, several area businesses donated prizes for the family, including: baby’s first vitamin prescription from Kopp Drug, two bags of diapers from Community Pharmacy, a $25 gift certificate from the Bellwood Sheetz and a $15 gift certificate from The Family Chill ’n Grill.
Also, one oil change for the parents from Nelson Brothers, a $25 gift certificate from Patrice’s Boutique, a $20 gift certificate from The Beauty Salon, a $10 gift certificate from Foxfire Enterprises and two free value meals from Burger King.
Allen was visited at the hospital by many relatives including: his great grandmother Dorothy Eury, grandmother Amy Yingling, and great-great grandmother, Marian Chamberlin.
