The Tyrone Swim team made up the swim meet originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 5 in the Tyrone pool on Friday evening..
The Golden Eagle boys recorded their sixth straight victory of the season without a loss, keeping the perfect mark intact by downing Bishop McCort 105-63, sweeping all three relays and getting a double win effort from senior Eric Nulton in individual events.
Brian Pearson, Zac Yeaton, and the Nulton brothers, freshman Ethan and senior Eric opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay. Chris Bradigan, Ethan Nulton Pearson and Eric Nulton won the 200 free relay and Chris Closson, Nick Diehl, Matt Elder and Yeaton won the 400 free relay. The Eagles’ second teams of Matt Elder, Diehl, Bradigan and Andrew Shultz was second in the 200 free relay and Brian Frey, Jordan Campbell, Shultz and Matt Grimm was second in the 400 free relay.
Eric Nulton won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, Ethan Nulton won the 100 free, Bradigan won the 500 freestyle, Brian Pearson took the 100 backstroke and Zac Yeaton won the 100 breaststroke.
The Bishop McCort girls kept the Tyrone girls winless with a 110-53 win over the Lady Eagles (0-6).
Zoe Yeaton in the 100 butterfly and Kelly Pearson in the 100 backstroke were the Lady Eagles’ only individual winners. The 400 freestyle relay team of Leah Cherry, Yeaton, Pearson and Paige Black won the final relay of the evening.
Black was second in both the 50 free and 100 free, Pearson was second in the 200 IM and Yeaton was runnerup in the 100 breaststroke.
The Tyrone swim teams travel to Ligonier High School on Tuesday Jan. 11., for a 4 p.m. meet, and to Altoona on Thursday Jan. 13 for a 6:30 p.m. meet next week.
