Everyone in the Tyrone area is asked to mark their calendars for the 2007 Tyrone Area Labor Day Community Picnic to be held at Reservoir Park, Monday, September 3.
The day will be filled with activities for all ages, including fun land and water games for the children and bingo for the adults. There will also be 50/50 tickets, attendance drawings and contest sign ups. Several food booths, serving a variety of good food, will be on hand as well.
Area businesses, organizations and individuals are asked to begin getting items ready if they wish to donate them to be given away as bingo or door prizes. Any monetary donations will directly benefit the children that day as the money will go towards prizes and materials for the games.
Items that could be donated include: gift baskets, gift certificates, admission passes or merchandise.
Donated items can now be dropped off at the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce office or The Daily Herald office. Committee members will also be available to pick up items.
Items, as they are received, will soon be on display at The Daily Herald office on Pennsylvania Avenue.
For more information, contact one of the following committee members: Rose Black, Deb Garner, Lloyd Patton, Christina Pryor or Amanda Golden, or call the Chamber office at 684-0736.
Thanks to last year’s supporters, over 250 families enjoyed the day’s events.
