The Tyrone Golden Eagle Junior High boys basketball team earned it‚s 6th straight win yesterday as they traveled to Philipsburg to face the Mounties. Philipsburg-Osceola scored the first bucket of the game to take an early 2-0 lead, but that lead quickly evaporated as Josh Bradley worked the offensive glass to get several second chance baskets and score the next nine points. A basket by Chris McCaulley and one by the Mounties ended the first quarter 11-4.
The Eagles kept up their defensive intensity in the second quarter, only allowing three P-O points. At the same time, Tyrone’s Matt Brooks contributed five points and Mike Moore a three-pointer to make the score at halftime 19-7.
In the third period, the Eagle starters quickly gave way to their reserves as six different Golden Eagles scored a total of 17 points and upped their lead to 36-11. Dustin Rudasill, Garrett Ray, and Jason Tuskovich all scored four points apiece in the closing session to finish the game in Tyrone’s favor 48-20, and up their record to 6-2.
Josh Bradley led all scorers with 14 points.
Tyrone’s next game will be next Friday, January 21, hosting Lewistown at the TAHS gymnasium. The Eagles defeated the Panthers 47-39 earlier in the season at Lewistown to get their first win.

In the later eighth grade contest, Tyrone overmatched Philipsburg as they shut them out in the first half with 17-0 and 10-0 margins, and stayed undefeated at 7-0.
The Mounties only score came in the third quarter on a three-pointer.
The Eagles spread their scoring out over eleven different players as everyone had an opportunity to contribute. The final score was 42-3.
