Junior Girl Scout Troop 1201 met on March 3 at the Church of the Good Shepherd for a special event.
The girls were pinned with their leadership pins and the bronze award.
The bronze award is the highest award a girl can receive as a junior girl scout. Mayor Pat Stoner also presented each girl with a proclamation from the Mayor and Tyrone Borough Council.
To achieve this award, the girls had to complete many hours of community service. One community service they provided was a Christmas childcare center at the church. The girls took a Saturday in December of 2004 to care for children so their parents could finish last minute Christmas shopping.
The troop is sponsored by the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tyrone.
