The Bellwood-Antis School Board held its monthly meeting last Tuesday.
During the meeting, the 2004 B-A football team was recognized for its outstanding season. Each player received a certificate and a picture of the team. Supervisor Brian Toth congratulated the team on its excellent season and Coach John Hayes expressed thanks to the school for its support and for helping to make the season successful.
On the business end, the board approved substitute teachers Matthew Hall, mathematics; Tracey Lindberg, citizenship 7-12 grades; Brian Dixon, music K-12 and Jessica Detrich, elementary.
Ellen Roberts was approved as a long-term substitute special education teacher at Myers Elementary beginning February 14 at $130.73 per day pending receipt of her Emergency Certificate. Leanne Maucieri was approved as a mentor teacher for Roberts.
Sally Padula was approved to be employed five hours per week for eight weeks in order to provide homebound instruction at a rate of $24.18 per hour. Also approved for homebound instruction were Mr. Andrekovich at one hour per week, Mr. Hescox at two hours per week and Mrs. Tambellini at two hours per week.
The board also approved:
• Allen Wolfe and Rick Schreier as substitutes for the ClassroomPlus program at $24.18 per hour;
• Ernie Walters as a substitute van driver;
• elementary volunteer program participants Jennifer Mauk, Pamela Yohn and Norma Smith;
• the resignation of Angie Whetstine, tax collector, effective May 31;
• Tim Kovac as volunteer baseball coach and Justin Kobuck as assistant varsity baseball coach at the stipend of $1,956.05 pending receipt of up-to-date clearances and
• the transfer of Stephanie Kuhn from her ES/MS shared teaching position to first grade, which became available with the transfer of Robin Miller to a second grade teaching position beginning with the 2005-06 school year.
