Saturday night, April 16, the annual Tyrone-Snyder Township Public Library “fun” raising concert will go back to the homeland of Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest and Nottingham, England as they bring to the Tyrone Area High School auditorium stage Barry St. Ives. Yes, Barry St. Ives is from Nottingham, England.
Barry will be appearing as part of the Tyrone-Snyder Township Public Library’s big annual concert drive to raise the funds to cover the annual mortgage payments on the new library located in downtown Tyrone.
“Barry is a standup comic and does some outstanding impersonations,” said Chuck Banas, the library’s chairman and organizer of the annual concerts.
Barry St. Ives has performed at the London Palladium and worked with some of England’s finest, including Benny Hill, before coming to the United States 15 years ago.
“When we put up the hand posters advertising this year’s annual concert, I had numerous individuals stop me and tell me that they had recognized Barry from his appearances on television,” added Banas.
Since Barry has been in the United States, he has delighted audiences all over the country and at sea, appearing with many of the world’s greatest entertainers such as Tom Jones, Willie Nelson, Pat Boone and Engelbert Humperdinck in Las Vegas.
His light-hearted comedy and realistic impressions are only superseded by his amazing voice and British charm. This winning combination has made Barry St. Ives a favorite with multi-national audiences both on land and the sea.
Barry will be joining what appears to be a terrific group of entertainers on Saturday night, April 16. These will include vocalists Greta Shepardson and Kelsey Wilson, The Foxtrot Dancers and of course the show’s main attraction from New York City, The Platters.
The evening will begin when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available for this great night of entertainment.
Prices are $30 per ticket. All seats are reserved seating. All tickets are on a first come first serve basis. Also, there is plenty of free parking at the high school.
Tickets are available at the following ticket sale outlets: Healthy Alternatives, Bressler’s Food Mart and Sports, Kopp Drugs, Joybeans and The Tyrone-Snyder Public Library. In the Altoona area, tickets may be purchased at the Altoona Public Library.
