The Bellwood-Antis girls softball squad traveled to Glendale for a game on Thursday afternoon. Bellwood-Antis scored seven runs in the third and fourth innings to tie the Lady Vikings 7-7, but the Glendale girls kept on scoring to take a 12-7 decision.
In the B-A third, Beth Helsel singled and scored on a Pam Weyant base hit. Heather Detwiler walked and scored on a single by Christine Pfahler and Pfahler came around to score on a single by starting pitcher Kala Reider.
An inning later Karlie Rogers and Kerstin Myers drew walks to open the fourth. Helsel singled in Rogers. Weyant scored Myers with her second base hit. Weyant stole second base and then Detwiler was hit by a pitch and Pfahler walked to force in Helsel. Weyant came home to score the Lady Blue Devils final run.
Sandy Edmiston drilled a triple and drove home three runs and C. J. Krise and Abbey Shomo each had two RBI for Glendale which improves to 2-1.
Bellwood-Antis (0-5) will be in action on Tuesday at George Martin Memorial Field in Bellwood, against undefeated Moshannon Valley (3-0), which defeated Claysburg-Kimmel 13-5 in a battle of super powers in MAC Division 3 action Thursday.
