William C. “Red” Wills Jr., 76, of 212 Stahl’s Lane, RD3, Tyrone, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at his residence.
He was born January 4, 1929 in Tyrone a son of the late William C. and Gertrude (Shingler) Wills. On November 28, 1953 in Winchester, Virginia he married Myrtle Blaska. She died October 22, 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Bill and wife Kim of Phoenix, Arizona, Randy Lee and wife Barb of Tyrone, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Betty Iddings of Tyrone and N. Kathy Metz of Spring Hill, Kansas. He was preceded in death by a sister Joanne and a brother Robert.
Mr. Wills retired in 1991 from Juniata Fabricators, Bald Eagle, as a truck driver following nine years service. He previously had worked at Westvaco, Pennsylvania Railroad, Alcoa, Bayer Brothers and Seiner Trucking.
He was a member of the Anderson-Denny VFW, Tyrone and was of the protestant faith. He was a U.S. veteran of the Korean War serving as a private first class.
He enjoyed walking in the woodlands around his home, football and boxing.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Peggy Bonsell officiating. Interment will be at Baughman Cemetery, Snyder Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
