Donna Jean McClellan, 69, of Tyrone RD 3, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 20, 2007 at her residence after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born April 21, 1938 in Portersville, a daughter of the late Willis “Jack” and Helen (McBride) Chronister. On June 14, 1956 in Tyrone she married James N. McClellan Jr.
Surviving are her husband, 3 daughters, Sharon Schmidt and husband Timothy, Susan Yothers and husband Jeffrey and Sally Woomer and husband Douglas all of Tyrone, a son Scott and wife Tonyia of Frederick, Maryland, 12 grandchildren, 2 sisters Eileen (Jim) Murray of Warriors Mark, Janice (Tom) Lannen of Tyrone, a brother James (Sandy) Chronister of Tyrone and a half-brother Wendell (Jeanny) Chronister of Portersville. She was preceded in death by 3 half-brothers Martin, Kenny and Don Chronister.
Donna was a 1956 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Tyrone where she served in various ministries throughout the years.
Donna, along with her husband, was owner of McClellan Coal and Oil, Tyrone for 40 years. She retired in March 2007 as school bus contractor and driver for the Tyrone Area School District after 40 years of service.
Donna was proud of her family. She enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions and collecting dolls and knickknacks.
At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received to remember and honor the life of Donna McClellan on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 1553 Columbia Ave., Tyrone.
