A marketing company which promotes financial services is expanding to the Tyrone area.
World Financial Group Inc., a division of AEGON is expected to open an office in the area sometime this summer.
The exact date and location of the branch is still being worked on by the firm which will be managed by George Garner of Tyrone. Garner has previous experience working with mortgages and lending in the banking industry.
The company has locations throughout the world according to Jane Gainard, who handles marketing for WFG from a Beaver County office. The company’s headquarters in the United States is located in Deluth, GA.
“We are excited to help Tyrone prosper and be a participant in that growth…,” said Gainard. “We’re projected to have 15 to 20 active (financial) agents out of that office by December.”
Garner will be the marketing director for that office according to Gainard.
“It going to be a process of promotions, but he will be the lead person in that office,” said Gainard.
She said Garner was born in Williamsburg and grew up in this area.
A recent release from the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce said WFG operates as an independent marketing company. Its associates, through its affiliated companies, offer a broad array of financial services products.
Gainard said, “AEGON is a $300 billion company. They are recognized by Forbes magazine and Fortune magazine as one of the most respected companies in the world. World Financial Group is the marketing arm of AEGON and we basically market (financial companies) products to the families. We design a financial plan that will meet the families needs-not putting the family in a box. We have lots of variety for a family to meet their goals and objectives.”
Gainard said the firm has based its growth on referrals and word-of-mouth without advertising.
Ahead of the company’s opening later this year, the Chamber is offering a Lunch-N-Learn presentation on May 17 to allow the community to become more familiar with the firm.
The featured speakers at the event at Burley’s Restaurant will include Gainard, Garner and Denise Smith of WFG. Topics during the presentation are planned to include “Our Changing World: The Shift to Personal Responsibility.”
The release from the Chamber said, “WFG is dedicated to providing families and small businesses with financial solutions that meet their needs, goals and objectives.”
The firm markets personalized services to help its customers establish priorities and potentially help reduce taxes. Agents provide customers with new recommendations, help them identify goals, analyze present investing strategies as well as help them manage and possibly eliminate debt.
The Lunch-N-Learn will start at its usual time of 11:45 a.m. and run until 1 p.m.
Reservations for the event are required. The cost is $15. Call Rose Black at 684-0736 by May 16 to RSVP.
