Members of the Kiwanis Club of Tyrone are pleased to announce they are sponsoring the annual Dick Dutrow Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, May 13 at the scenic Sinking Valley Country Club.
“We are looking for both individuals and teams for the event being held for the sixth time in memory of Dick Dutrow, who had been active in local, district and international Kiwanis events and activities,” said Pete Dutrow, tournament chairman.
Four-person teams are being sought for an all-inclusive fee of $60 per player. Kiwanis will also accept individuals and will pair them with other entrants.
Prizes, trophies, refreshments and a buffet dinner are included along with a chance to win a new car for a hole-in-one. It will be a four man Scramble with awards for the closest to the pin and the longest drive on selected holes.
There is a scheduled shotgun start of 11 a.m.
Funds raised through the tournament will be used to support a variety of Kiwanis projects including: scholarships awarded to graduating seniors, various athletic teams including Little League, Teener League and Youth Basketball, the Tyrone Area High School Key Club, Tyrone Area Elementary Terrific Kids program, Special Olympics and Salvation Army.
Kiwanis also provides support for orphanages in Bulgaria and Jamaica as well as national and international projects promoted by Kiwanis International.
