Summer is officially on the way!
With school ending this coming week, kids, and adults, will be out and about looking for something to do.
Luckily, the Bellwood-Antis Community Swimming Pool will open tomorrow at noon for the summer season.
On Friday, June 10 there will be a School’s Out Splash Hop to kick off the summer season and celebrate the end of the school year. The splash hop will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be refreshments, along with a live band.
The Bellwood-Antis Park houses a full sized pool as well as a baby pool for younger children. Throughout the summer, several programs are offered at the pool including swimming lessons, SCUBA classes, aquatic fitness programs, lap swims and lifeguard training. Individuals may also rent the pool for special occasions such as birthday parties.
Swimming lessons will be offered at the pool in three sessions. Session I will be held from June 8 to June 30, Session II from July 6 to July 28 and Session III from August 1 to August 23. Classes will be held on Mondays/Wednesdays and Tuesdays/Thursdays for children in pre-school ages three to six and elementary school children ages six to 12.
Aquatic fitness classes will be held on Monday through Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. weather permitting. The cost is $24 per eight visit punch card and can be purchased at the pool.

Season passes are available for purchase at the pool or at the Bellwood-Antis township building. A child pass is $35, an adult pass is $45, a senior pass is $40 and a family pass is $70. This rate is for Bellwood residents, non-residents are charged a slightly higher rate. Day passes may also be purchased for the pool. The Hollidaysburg Area YMCA manages the pool for the township.

Besides the pool, the Bellwood-Antis Park also boasts many other summertime retreats. Martin Field and the little league field are a popular area for baseball lovers throughout the summer months
The park houses three pavilions for public use. The pavilions are available to rent for special occasions and family functions.
The playground area at the park offers many safe and enjoyable activities to keep youngsters occupied. Thanks to a DCNR grant and the Lions Club, children can run, swing, slide, and climb on the new park equipment.
