Mrs. Adelaide H. Zerbe, age 79, of 1552 Madison Avenue, Tyrone died Monday, May 23, 2005 at 5:22 p.m. at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Campus.
She was born July 12, 1925 in Tyrone, the daughter of Miles H. and Marian Wilson Hoy and on June 5, 1949 was married in Philadelphia to C. Burley Zerbe who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Barbara Oravetz, Wyomissing and two sons, John and wife Linda of Corry and Thomas of Tyrone; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1943 and of the Altoona School of Commerce. She retired in 1987 as supervisor of tellers for Mellon Bank, Tyrone Branch.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the church Mariners and the Auxiliary to Howard Gardner Post No. 281, American Legion.
Private funeral service with her pastor, Robert Dunkelberger officiating will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library, 1000 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone 16686.
