Earlier this month, state police investigated a criminal mischief and theft incident at a camp site located about half-a-mile from State Route 4027 in Snyder Township.
The incident happened sometime between June 6 at 11 p.m. and June 14 at 6 p.m. at a campsite owned by Daniel Peters of Tyrone.
Someone wrote statements on Peters’ ATV and on his mobile home with washable paint.
Police estimated damage to various items at Peters’ campsite at $162.

A Tyrone man, Richard Malicoat, was arrested for public drunkenness near the railroad tracks in Logan Township, Huntingdon County on June 11 at 10 p.m.
Police said Malicoat was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to a degree that he could endanger himself.

A 52-year-old North Carolina man was arrested for DUI after an incident on Interstate 99, south of the Tipton exit, in Antis Township, on June 12 at 1:30 a.m.
Rush Guyer Stehley, Jr. of Pineville was stopped for erratic driving along the highway. He was arrested for DUI and taken before Magisterial Judge Todd Kelly of Altoona for arraignment.
After posting bail, he was released and a preliminary hearing was scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller for DUI and other summary offenses.

Phillipsburg-based state police investigated a rear-end crash on State Route 350, approximately one mile north of South Mountain Road, in Taylor Township, Centre County on June 12, shortly before 11 a.m.
The crash happened when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Brian Leech of Tyrone was following another vehicle northbound on the road. The vehicle in front of Leech was stopped to make a left turn.
Leech stopped his vehicle behind the one in front of his and was struck in the rear by a pick-up truck driven by 17-year-old Jared Russell Wilson of Huntingdon.
The force of the impact pushed Leech’s car ahead approximately 30 feet. Both units came to a rest locked together in the northbound lane on State Route 350.
Wilson suffered minor injuries to his neck and upper back. A passenger in his pick-up truck, 15-year-old Austin G. Rinker, was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts. Leech and several passengers in his car were not hurt and all were wearing seat belts.
Leech’s car was totaled while Wilson’s pick-up truck had severe damage.

A 21-year-old Tyrone woman had items taken from her vehicle at the Point Access boat launch in Juniata Township on June 12 between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The perpetrator of the crime arrived on the scene and entered Shannon Lee Ammerman’s vehicle and took her purse, a camera and other items. The unknown suspect then fled the scene.
State police said the boat launch was busy at the time of the theft. Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or persons in the area are asked to contact the Huntingdon-based state police at 814-627-3161.

An 84-year-old Tyrone man had his hunting camp burglarized on Reese Road in Warriors Mark Township sometime between 8 p.m. on June 12 and 8 a.m. on June 15.
Someone gained entry by climbing the roof and breaking a second floor window. Once inside, the burglar(s) went through the house and damaged a lamp, wall pictures and put a hole in the wall. Police also reported eight cans of beer were removed from the Mark IV hunting camp.

Gary W. Lucas of Tyrone reported a theft from a location on Bell-Tip Road sometime between October 31 of last year and June 12.
He said his three-blade stainless steel prop, 13-inches in diameter, was stolen from his 125 HP Force boat motor.
