Richard A. Nagle, 78, 603 N. 8th St., Bellwood, died Saturday evening July 23, 2005 at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born July 21, 1927 in Bellwood, a son of the late Joseph and Antonio (Kaiser) Nagle.
He married Marian J. Bonsell on July 1, 1950 at the Church of the Brethren, Tyrone.
Mr. Nagle retired from ConRail as a pipefitter in 1993 after 43 years service, working out of the Conway office.
He was a 1945 graduate of Bellwood High School and a member of the Merchant Marines during WWII. He enjoyed his family.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter Phyllis Nimtz at home; three grandchildren: Richard B. and wife Tina Bonsell, Dana R. Miller and Joseph J. and wife Trisha Beeler; six great-grandchildren: Amanda, Richard, Krista, Asia, Brad and Steffan; brother Joseph W. of FL.; two sisters: Mary Ellen Meridith of Harrisburg and Josephine Waite of Spring Mills; a son-in-law David Miller and a friend Evelyn Molloy.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Miller who died Oct. 29, 2004; a granddaughter April; a brother Walter James and a sister Emily Hurrell.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pallative Care Unit of the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus or Blair Co. Humane Society.
