Lakemont Park is home to over 30 rides and attractions, including the Island Waterpark, two rollercoasters, Go-Kart track, the kids Mini-Indy Go-Karts, Spins\’n Grins Kiddieland, an 18 hole miniature golf course, arcade, games, delicious all-American amusement park food and more.
This weekend, the park will be the be the site of SeniorFest ’05.
Blair Senior Service, Inc. will host the twelfth annual SeniorFest on Friday, August 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to a recent press release, SeniorFest will feature a traditional hamburger and hotdog picnic with games, prizes, musical selections by Dan and Gala, dancing to Rich Hagens and bingo. Also, an assortment of cold drinks will be available throughout the day.
The event will be held in the park’s picnic pavilions, at the lower end of the park, near the train ride.
SeniorFest provides the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of older individuals and to enjoy the fellowship of other older Blair County residents.

On Wednesdays, individuals can enjoy the park for one dollar. For one dollar more, individuals can get an all day ride and slide pass.
Other upcoming events at the park include the popular Wing Offs on August 4, 11 and 18. The Famous Wing Offs are held on Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m. As area restaurants compete with their very best hot wings, local bands play their coolest tunes.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 19, 20 and 21, the 16th Annual Kruisin’ Weekend will be held at the park.
With over 400 custom street rods and classic cars on display, it’s one of the biggest shows around. There will also be live oldies music.
