Carmela C. Leidy, age 84, of Spruce Creek, PA died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 10 a.m. at J.C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon. She was born June 8, 1921 in Sicily, the daughter of Vincenzo and Caterina Cammaroto. She is survived by one son, Francis Leidy of Spruce Creek and a brother Carmelo Cammaroto of Bradford.
She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, Class of 1939. During World War II, she was employed by Sylvania Corp in Altoona. She later was employed by Phillips Fly and Tackle Company of Alexandria as a professional fly tyer. She retired in 1986 from Centre Engineering of State College where she had been a chips tester.
Funeral mass for Mrs. Leidy will be at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church at the convenience of the family with Father David H. Roesch officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
