The Tyrone Area School District invites parents to become involved in their children’s education by providing easy access to student information via the Internet.
Join other “connected” parents in the Tyrone Area School District by registering for ParentCONNECT.
ParentCONNECT software is a convenient home-to-school collaboration tool that allows parents/guardians to keep track of their children’s\’ academic progress online through an easy-to-use web site. Parents/guardians may visit the password-protected site to view school program announcements as well as their students\’ schedules, current grades, assignments, daily attendance and discipline issues.
Any Internet connection will do. All that is needed is Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or AOL Version 4.0 or higher to access each student’s profile. Individuals will have read-only access and will not be able to modify information posted. Parents can view this information from any computer with Internet access.
Parents/guardians can also easily communicate with teachers via e-mail or receive automatic e-mail notification of unexcused absences, missing assignments or failing grades.
This is a prime opportunity for parents to stay on top of their students\’ educational activities. There is no cost for this service.
To take advantage of ParentCONNECT, individuals need to register online and receive a user ID and password.
Registering for ParentCONNECT is easy. Go to http://www.parent.tyrone.k12.pa.us. Select \”Register\” and fill in the Parent and Student Information forms then select \”Submit.\” Do not register more than once. Individuals will not receive a password over the Internet. Individuals must attend a brief introductory session at the high school. At this session, individuals will be asked to present picture ID and then they will be given a user ID and password for ParentCONNECT.
At the Tyrone Area High School, Room 100, on Monday, September 12, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., district personnel will be available to distribute passwords and demonstrate the site. Although pre-register is not necessary, completing the online registration for ParentCONNECT ahead of time will speed up the process. Remember to bring picture ID. If parents/guardians registered for ParentCONNECT last year, they will continue to use the same user ID and password. It is not necessary to re-register.
