Mrs. Helen T. Chencharick, 77, of 2206 Adams Avenue, Tyrone, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Moran’s Home, Bellwood.
She was born December 15, 1927 at Viola, a daughter of Wasco and Catherine (Leciew) Temchack.
She was married June 14, 1947 at Detroit, Michigan to Michael Chencharick who died December 2, 1978.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia Woodring and her husband Ronald of Duncansville; a son, Michael Chencharick and his wife Doretta K. of Ramey; four grandchildren: Eric and Adam Woodring of Duncansville, Krista L. Chencharick of Ramey and Michael C. Chencharick of Indiana; one great-grandchild; four brothers: Frank Temchack, Vladimere Temchack, Wasco Temchack of Viola and Stanley Temchack of Ashland, Ohio; three sisters, Arlene Fulmar of Detroit, Michigan, Madeline Taber of Normal, Illinois and Ann “Connie” Temchack of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers John and Metro Temchack and sisters Marie Negri and Estella Chencharick.
She was a member of the Tyrone First English Lutheran Church and former member of the Bald Eagle Grange No. 1390 where she was honored by a Certificate for Granger of the Year on October 14, 1997.
She loved baking and decorating cakes, gardening and flowers.
She retired in 1993 from Big Yank Corp. after 31 years service.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Tyrone First English Lutheran Church with Rev. TM Talbot-Moses officiating. Interment will be at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery at Ramey.
Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church one hour before the service. Contributions in her memory may be given to the First English Lutheran Church, 17 W. 13th St., Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
