Tyrone Area Community Organization has scheduled a spaghetti dinner for Thursday, December 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tyrone Armory.
The dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, bread and butter, apple sauce, dessert and soda.
The Armory will be decorated with Christmas trees at the time of the dinner, and Santa Claus will be making a special appearance for the kids.
Eat-in, take-out or delivery is available. Tickets are $5 for adults, children four to 12-years-old eat for $3, and children three and under eat for free.
For tickets, call Ruth at 684-3386 or Dave at 684-1592.
The money raised with the spaghetti dinner will benefit TACO’s many community service projects. First, the money will go to increase the value of the scholarships TACO gives to Tyrone Area High School seniors each year. In the past, TACO awarded two $500 and two $300 scholarships to area seniors. This year, TACO would like to award four scholarships worth $500 each.
Any additional money raised at the spaghetti dinner will help to pay for postage for mail-outs for the annual TACO Radio Auction.
TACO would like to thank area sponsors who have donated items for the spaghetti dinner, including: DelGrosso Foods for meatballs, sauce, spaghetti and place mats; the Bull Pen for the carry-out trays; WS Lee for the apple sauce; Central Distributors for the cups; Pacifico for the rolls; Laurel Vending for the soda and Burger King for the ice. TACO would like to especially thank those at the Armory and the cook for helping with the spaghetti dinner.
In other TACO news, members of the group will be participating in the annual Tyrone Christmas Parade by collecting canned goods for the Salvation Army. The parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 1 at 6:15 p.m.
After the parade and the spaghetti dinner, TACO members will begin preparing for their auction, which is scheduled for February 11-12, 2006.
