The Tyrone Community Players will be participating in this year’s community celebration, A Victorian Christmas, scheduled for December 1 through December 3.
According to TCP representative Cindy Bennett, the group will have “the building” located at 1019 Logan Ave., opened from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 to house the TCP Cafe, an exhibit of works created by members of the Players, a trash to treasure sale and something for the children.
The TCP Cafe will feature homemade soups, baked potatoes with toppings, a selection of delicious desserts and the famous TCP fudge. All foods offered in the cafe can be eaten in or taken home for a quick and scrumptious December dinner.
The trash to treasure sale will include many collectibles, as well as some video tapes, knickknacks and more.
Bennett added the Children\’s Theater Project of the Tyrone Community Players will present, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., a selection of stories of the season, presented by Mayor Patricia Stoner. There is no charge for this presentation and children of all ages are welcomed.
All young participants will be able to “sign the wall”, a permanent recognition of the youth in the community and their involvement in the arts.
The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce, Tyrone Merchants Association, Tyrone Community Partnership and the Tyrone Regional Arts Council are sponsoring the second annual Tyrone Victorian Christmas Celebration, December 1-3 in downtown Tyrone.
In other TCP news, auditions for Seussical, The Musical are scheduled for tomorrow and Monday at “the building”.
Youth auditions for young performers between the ages of eight and 13 will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. Adult auditions will be held tomorrow and Monday at 7 p.m.
Everyone should be prepared with a vocal audition. Young performers will not be required to sing alone unless auditioning for a principle role. An accompanist will be present.
Rehearsals for Seussical, The Musical will begin on January 2, 2006 and the production dates are March 17-18, 2006 in the Tyrone Area High School auditorium.
