Mrs. Lois May Clark, age 100, formerly of Tyrone RD 1 and Smithfield, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 1:25 p.m. at Epworth Manor.
She was born May 12, 1905 in Bedford County, the daughter of Roy M. and Bertha Hardin Shaffer. On September 24, 1926 she was married to Theodore S. Clark who preceded her in death March 9, 1971. She is survived by three daughters: Lois Vaughn and Sue Weaverling, both of Huntingdon and Marie Harrison of Ormond Beach, Fl.; one son Ray and wife Ann Clark of Union Furnace, Tyrone RD 1; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Theodore Rexford Clark and was the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Clark was a graduate of Everett High School and of Shippensburg Normal School, now Shippensburg University. She had been a teacher in the Bedford County Schools. She was a member of the Spruce Creek United Methodist Church.
Funeral service for Mrs. Clark will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Vance Hart officiating. Interment will be made in Mount Union Cemetery, West Providence Township, Bedford County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service.
