The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is busy preparing for its annual golf tournament, and this year’s event is going to be even more special.
Chamber board members decided it was fitting to honor well-known and sadly missed area businessman of Logan Beverage and avid golfer Ben DelBaggio, by renaming the tournament the “Ben DelBaggio Memorial Golf Classic”.
In Ben’s memory, a donation will be made to the Tyrone Snyder Public Library, which is the organization chosen by Ben’s family.
The tournament is scheduled for Thursday, September 20, beginning at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. The four-person scramble will be held at the Sinking Valley Country Club.
The registration deadline is September 7.
The day of the tournament, registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Prizes and snacks will also be available after the tournament.
Entry fees are as follows: team fees, $400 at four players per team or individual golfer at $125.
The golf package includes: 18 holes of golf, cart, course refreshments and snacks, lunch, door prize opportunities, golf shirt, balls, towel and more, as well as chances at sponsored giveaways.
Skill prizes will be awarded as well.
Sponsorship opportunities include:
• gold sponsor for $1,000, which includes four golfers, hole sponsor and corporate sponsorship recognition including the opportunity to display your banner at the tournament
• silver sponsor for $500, which includes two golfers, hole sponsorship, recognition at event and promotional advertising
• bronze sponsor for $250, which includes hole sponsor, recognition at event and promotional advertising.
• hole sponsor for $100, which includes the name of your business on one of the 18 holes to be played during the tournament. Golfers will have a chance to win a great prize by identifying all the hole sponsors.
• hole in one sponsor, which is a chance to place a car, cash, vacation, etc. at three different challenging holes
• door prize or giveaway
