Paul O. Bressler, 89, of Sunset Hills, Tyrone, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at Tyrone Hospital.
He was born Dec. 18, 1916 in Tyrone, a son of the late George A. and Clara (Kustenbauder) Bressler. On July 11, 1941 in Tyrone he married Kathryn Caldwell. She died May 2, 1991.
Surviving are his longtime friend, Mardell Fink of Tyrone and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Bressler retired in 1979 from Westvaco, Tyrone from the paper department following 43 years of service.
He was a 1936 graduate of Tyrone High School.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Tyrone. He belonged to the Mariner’s club, Tyrone Elks Lodge No. 212 and the Howard Gardner American Legion.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving as a B-24 flight engineer in Italy.
Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Funeral services with veteran’s honors will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Robert Dunkelberger and Rev. Charles Swenson officiating.
Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m., until the time of the services.
